The 352 entries for the V festival Internacional de
Humor e Quadrinhos de Pernambuco in 2003 came from 16 countries -
Argentina, Belgium, Brazil, Canada, China, Cora, Spain, India, Italy,
Israel, Japan, Poland, United Kingdom, Serbia, Turkey, Ukraine - with 157
artists in the contest. All works were examined by the Selection Commission, formed by the
cartoonists members of the Associação dos Cartunistas de Pernambuco -
ACAPE and specialized journalists on May 15, 2003, being chosen 200 works
to the
international
exhibit
which would be in contest for the prizes in the four categories:
Caricature, Editorial cartoon, Gag Humor and Comic Strips.
