O Humor Gráfico sempre esteve na linha de frente na luta
pelos direitos sociais no Brasil. Pernambuco caracteriza-se por
apresentar grandes nomes nesta área desde o Século XIX até os dias de
hoje.
O Festival de Humor e Quadrinhos promovido pelo Governo do Estado segue
esta mesma direção. Desde o I FIHQ-PE acreditamos na importância deste evento cultural que
permite trazer até nosso estado o trabalho de artistas de diversos
continentes e levar até eles nossa História e nossa cultura, ampliando o
conhecimento entre os povos através de uma linguagem universal: o riso.
Ao chegarmos à quarta edição do Festival Internacional de Humor e
Quadrinhos de Pernambuco, numa realização conjunta com a Associação dos
Cartunistas de Pernambuco - ACAPE, constatamos que o nosso esforço foi justificado,
tanto pela reação dos artistas participantes, quanto pela plena aceitação
deste evento que já se tornou parte do contexto cultural pernambucano e do
calendário humorístico mundial.
Temos certeza de que ele, cada vez mais, alargará nossas fronteiras culturais em busca de um mundo
onde o Humor esteja sempre presente .

Graphic Humor has been always present in the frontline
of the fight for Civil Rights in Brazil. And Pernambuco has a
characteristic of producing great names in this field since the XIX
Century until today.
The Humor and Comics Festival promoted by the Government of the State of
Pernambuco follows this same track.Since the I FIHQ-PE we gave credit to the importance
of this cultural event which allows the opportunity of bringing to our
State the artwork of creators from different continents and present to
them our History and our culture, widening the knowledge among people
through a universal languague: the smile.
Arriving at the fourth edition of the Festival Internacional de Humor
e Quadrinhos de Pernambuco, along with the Pernambuco Cartoonists
Association - ACAPE, we see that our effort was justified, as much
as for the reaction of the participants as well as the complete acceptance
of this event which already is a part of the cultural context of
Pernambuco and of the worl Humor community.
We are sure that it will, more and more, enlarge our cultural borders in search of a world where Humor will always be
present.
