The VII Concurso Internacional de Humor e Quadrinhos de Pernambuco - FIHQ-PE is a cultural promotion by the Secretary of Culture of the State of Pernambuco, open to all cartoonists and comic book artists, professional or amateurs, anywhere in the world.

CATEGORIES

Gag Humor - Original drawing or painting in color or B&W, free choice of theme and technique, 30 cm X 40 cm format, without any kind of frame,  acompanied by the entry form and author's small biography and photo. Quality prints of works achieved by digital tools will be accepted as originals as long as they are hand signed by the author and with description of the softwares used. No photocopies will be accepted.

Caricature - Original Humorous graphic representation of a well known person, free choice of technique, in color or B&W, 30 cm X 40 cm format, without any kind of frame, acompanied by the entry form and author's small biography and photo. Quality prints of works achieved by digital tools will be accepted as originals as long as they are hand signed by the author and with description of the softwares used. No photocopies will be accepted.

Comics - Original comic strip story with or without text, with a maximum of three pages, each one in the 30 cm X 40 cm format, free choice of technique, without any kind of frame, acompanied by the entry form and author's small biography and photo. Quality prints of works achieved by digital tools will be accepted as originals as long as they are hand signed by the author and with description of the softwares used. No photocopies will be accepted.

Editoral Cartoon - Original humorous drawing or painting depicting any social, sports or political fact which took place between ay of the previous year and April of the present year, free choice of technique, in the maximum size of 30 cm X 40 cm format, without any kind of frame, acompanied by the entry form and author's small biography and photo. It’s OBRIGATORY that the original must be accompanied by a clipping of the published work in any newspaper or magazine with the date of publishing, to establish the professional status of the author, since this category is open only to professionals. Quality prints of works achieved by digital tools will be accepted as originals as long as they are hand signed by the author and with description of the softwares used. No photocopies will be accepted.

PRIZES

The prizes will bear the names of old cartoonists from Pernambuco and the winning works will become property of the FUNDARPE - Fundação do Patrimônio Histórico e Artístico de Pernambuco.

SELECTION AND JURY

The Jury’s decision is final and irrevocable.

PARTICIPATION

Every drawing should bear on the back the name(s) of the author(s), surname, address, phone number and e-mail address (if any) and the Category in which the artwork should be inscribed. The works  won't  be returned.

For the Comics category, every page must have the sequential number written on the back.

The originals for the Editorial Cartoon category cannot exceed the maximum size of 30 cm X 40 cm, but they may be smaller, as long as they are mounted on a cardboard which should be the standard size (30 cm X 40 cm)

Each participant can send a maximum of 04 (four) entries in one category, two (02) entries in two categories or 01 (one) entry in each category in a maximum of 04 (four) entries per author.

EXHIBITION

All works may be used by the FIHQ-PE to the promotion of the Festival in any medium of public or private communication, published in newspapers, magazines, books, posters and in any other form, reproduced in various products and exhibited in Brazil and abroad, all without any fee to the author.

The participation implies in the acceptance of all the FIHQ-PE conditions stated here in these rules.

The Portuguese version will be the definitive one for consideration in judicial matters.
