Composed
of three islands that connect between themselves and the continent
through many bridges, the city of Recife is one of the oldest cities
in Brazil.
In it’s
architecture, buildings from the XVII, XVII and XIX centuries get
along well with new constructions from the XX and XXI centuries.
A natural
belt of reefs – where the name of the city comes from –
surrounds the city and on top of it there is the sculptures park of
Francisco Brennand, with its Crystal Tower.
On the last week of May, and the end of autumn, Recife is the
headquarters of the International Humor and Comics Festival of
Pernambuco. |
