O Palácio do Governo - The Government palace

Localizado na Ilha de Santo Antônio, a ilha central que compõe o centro do Recife, o Palácio do Governo fica situado em frente à Praça da República, também chamada de Campo das Princesas, pois nela brincaram as filhas do Imperador D. Pedro II, quando da sua visita ao Recife no Século XIX.

De construção neoclássica, o palácio é a sede do governo de Pernambuco desde o princípio do Século XX.

Uma escada de mármore, tendo ao fundo um vitral de Moser leva até ao Salão das Bandeiras, no primeiro andar, onde foi instalada a exposição Retrato Oficial.

 Placed on the Santo Antônio Island, the central island of downtown Recife, the Government Palace faces the Republic Plaza, also called The Princesses Fields, because it was there where the daughters of the Emperor D. Pedro II played when he visited Recife in the XIX Century.

Vitral de Moser - Moser vitraux

A neoclassical building, the palace is the office of the Pernambuco government since the beginning of the XX Century.

Marble stairs, with a vitraux by Moser on the top, lead to the Flags Saloon on the first floor, where the exhibit Retrato Oficial was installed.
